Lump in has gotten larger?

So I'm 17. I've had this same lump in my right for over two years. It's never gone away or gotten smaller. I've recently discovered that it has gotten larger though. It's sometimes painful & sometimes sore. I never really stressed over it because people say teens just have lumpy . Should I worry about it since it has gotten larger? Also, my mom got a lump removed from her when she was around 15 or 16. Does that mean anything?
