Struggling to remember an 80's song?

I don't know the name of the song and am trying to find it to add to my collection. I remember it from ages ago and what i remember is that its a black guy in a trench coat (and occasionaly goes to a (what i think was leather) sleeveless hoodie), he mainly sat on a red circular couch in a completely white room...i think theres a lyric in there some where it sounds like "cuz we're never gunna survive...oh yes..."
