Repairs took over 2 months still not completed want to sue landlord?

ok so basicly the ceiling in our bathroom was lumpy we didnt think anything of it just peel the paint and repaint it.. we dont have a ceiling fan im not sure what they are called we just thought it was due to moisture from taking warm showers we never ever saw a leak. so one day march 16 we got a paper on the door saying that there was going to be an inspection on the building due to buyers it didnt have a date on waht day the inspection was or state that they were going to be entering our apartment.. well that next morning march 17 early in the morning i was sick and sleeping in since i go to night school and go to bed very late. they just walked in the reason i woke up was cuz i heard voices in my living room. i got up and they were in my bathroom and the ceiling was leaking like crazy i was like omg the landlord looked at me as if it was a problem i failed to report. little did she know that it only leaked when the person above me would take showers and im guessing they only took morning showers cuz ive never saw a leak. so right away she had a guy open up the wall to stop the leak the mold and drywall damage was horid. i kept telling him that they need to remove all that is covered in green and black mold and he said its not mold its mildue and left the ceiling exposed and open for weeks.. i kept telling them they need to repair it properly and finally they said yes. what they did was cover up the hole left the mold and damage inside and tell me that the painter are going to put a chemical in the paint that kills mold they painted it and left the rotting wood and mold inside. so i called a inspecter showed him the pictures of the damage and he enforced them to fix it on the 20th of april i wrote a letter stating that we want it done within 30 days the 30 day timeline is way past due and its still not done the manager is careless and we dont have our bathroom yet its imbarrasing and we pay a fortune for this onebedroom apartment what do i do? monrovia california
